Major events

 

On the initiative of François Joly, Chairman of the Vienne Office for Youth and Culture and himself a writer of detective novels, the Detective Novel Festival has become one of the flagship events for this particular genre of fiction in France.

Since its creation in 1994, it has broadened in scope: launching talented young writers, inviting foreign celebrities, organising writing workshops, and arranging lectures by professional writers. This Festival provides a meeting place for authors, booksellers, and readers.

In 2007, it will take place in November in the Vienne Function Room as well as in high schools, junior high schools, cafes, etc.
