Municipalities of the Pays Viennois

Reventin Vaugris

Covering 1840 hectares, the municipality of Reventin-Vaugris was created 160 years ago, in 1847, according to the wishes of King Louis Philippe I, who wanted to join the towns of Reventin and Vaugris, positioned to the east and the west respectively of the royal road connecting Paris to Marseille (nowadays, this road is the RN7).

The municipality of Reventin-Vaugris comprises a village at the core, with the town hall, Paul Vincensini School, the town library and the church, and several hamlets of various sizes: la Balme, Vaugris 'station' and its school, le Grand Chemin where the post office is located, l'Aubressin, and le Vieux Vaugris.

In 1999, the municipality had 1621 inhabitants.

It has been twinned with Bodrogkeresztur (Hungary) since 26 August 2006.
