The 5 night event was founded in 1981 and Jazz à Vienne festival soon became the number one jazz festival in France, the top cultural event in the Rhône-Alpes and one of the biggest European festivals in terms of visitor numbers. With an average of almost 200,000 festival goers, Jazz à Vienne is world famous with both audiences and artists. Jazz à Vienne is paying tribute to jazz in all its forms for its 37th outing: gospel, blues, soul, funk, ethnic etc. They’ll all find their home on the festival stages as the event takes place in the Ancient Theatre and a variety of different venues
